N.Ireland, Mobalpa Kitchen

Live in Northern Ireland, purchased a Mobalpa Kitchen, thinking and being assured the greater expense was for a high end product, that would do me a lifetime with an outstanding guarantee. Fit out took 5 months, started July 2016 and the last cupboard front only arrived from France in December 2016. Cupboards are not closing properly, and the front of my doors are all cracking and chipping off, which is absolutely unacceptable. I have had to contact the French office and sent them pics, to be told out of guarntee and this is the email I received “
We have looked at all the photos and we can see that the furniture has deteriorated abnormally due to incorrect use. Our furniture does not deteriorate to this extent in such a short period with numerous chips in the surface”. I have no idea what exactly incorrect use of a kitchen is, but my last kitchen lasted me 25 years and was taken out without a mark. Absolutely disgusted with how my Mobalpa kitchen looks and how I have been treated.

Ordered and expected delivery within weeks as informed by sales person.
First door arrived damaged, like someone had walked on it in stillettos.
Six weeks later replacement door arrived, wrong side!!!
Another long wait and replacement door for two mis orders arrived damaged.
Totally in despair, avoid at all costs. Stick to UK manufacture, takes ages to get replacements from Franch factory especially if shut down for school holidays, yes all of them!!

Unpleasant and unnecessary frictions…

Still in the process of having the kitchen finished 5 weeks on.(supposed to take 2 weeks) very small kitchen 12 m2. only one 3m wall of units and appliances. unpleasant friction between contractors who blame each other for their mistakes. Botched jobs by Frankie D.I.(4)Y. I reserve my final opinion for when it will be finished.
PS I am dealing with the Essex Road branch being helped along by Sonal Patel (my Interlocuteur Unique - as Mobalba calls it ) and Ed Thai, manager.

So expensive

So expensive, shoddy product, useless guarantee. After 18 months the edges of the worktops are corroded like no other kitchen I’ve had. After months of trying to resolve the issue I get a response back from the French office saying they will not guarantee their retailers work/design, would not replace the corroded worktops (I would post a picture to show how awful they are), and avoided the suggestion that the uncut worktop edges are at fault. It was such an expensive kitchen I am gobsmacked at how shoddy the product is.

I used this company in Bergerac for a new kitchen, after their big price and naturally big commission after installed, their service standards after are an absolute disgrace.
They go on about 7 year guarantee, it is worthless.
Do not ever use them.

richmond branch never emailed my prices in the end. probably because i told him i was comparing his prices with other competitors. seemed afraid to put the effort into giving me a comprehensive quote. oh well, more fortune to their competitors.

Avoid

A few weeks after having me £20k kitchen installed the local franchisee went bust. Good luck trying to contact the French head office for assistance with any issues. I have sent them 4 emails and have not had a single response.

we have feature wall in our kitchen…

we have feature wall in our kitchen that needs renovating so after a search on the web we came across Mobalpa so we went to our local branch/franchise, after an initial consultation with the Mortlake outlet and after choosing the material and colour, we got told that the boards can be cut to any shape as we explained and showed pictures our feature wall was part under the stairs. at no point was this an issue, after a home visit and going through the design, near a week passed only to be sent a sketch the my 12 year old could have done better, and the excuses begun, software problems, can't match the materials we wanted etc. it became apparent the maybe the job wasn't going to be to the level of expense they wanted, waste 3 weeks of our time, communication from the outlet is very poor, would not recommend, think twice about spending your money.
